Hamartia
Hamartia is a tragic flaw.
Victor Frankenstein's tragic flaw would definitely be his intelligence mixed with his passion. First he closes himself off to make something absolutely perfect and then when he finishes it he decides it's too ugly and abandons it. At first his passion was keeping his nose to the slab but once his work was complete he loses any feelings for his creation. At first he was so proud of and obsessed with his creation, but when it was successful he thought is was scary so he ditched it. He lost his passion and, eventually, his life. |
