Climax
Mr. White says the climax it's a point of high emotional intensity, protagonist and antagonist often clash for the last time.
The climax is most definitely when Frankenstein's monster kills Elizabeth in chapter 23. Victor was expecting the monster to kill him, not his wife, so when the monster gets Elizabeth while Victor is waiting around ready to be murdered Victor is completely ruined. Everything that has ever made him happy now makes him depressed and angry and soon after Elizabeth dies, his father passes too. Victor has now lost everything and commits the rest of his life to revenge. |
