Dramatic Irony
Dramatic Irony is when the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.
The best example of Dramatic Irony would be when Victor believes that the monster will kill him on his wedding night but the monster was right there in front of him and could easily have killed him then.
Victor thinks his creature has a flair for theatrics however and leaves Elizabeth so she will be safe. As he waits for his monster to kill him, she ends up dead instead. |
